Whether you’re working for a small or large company, your personal brand is an important aspect of your marketing. Content marketing is a great way to develop that brand, build trust, and get more people following you on social media.

People communicate with other people, not with corporations, so just building your corporate brand will not give the company a personal touch point. Some corporations may worry that someone who is the face of the brand will eventually change jobs, but you can prevent this by having many individuals building the face of the brand. This will extend your organization’s reach to expand the number of people following your company.

Blogging - A blog is a great way to create original content and share your expertise with customers and prospects. If you provide useful advice, people will start referring to your blog on a regular basis. Don’t feel compelled to write pages of content. It’s better to keep it succinct and easy to read.

You can also comment on other people’s blogs. People will then start recognizing your name and you will establish yourself as an expert in your field.

Twitter - Write thought-provoking one-liners and put them on Twitter. You can expand on these topics in your blog.

Other Social Media - Your followers on Twitter, friends on Facebook, and contacts on LinkedIn and Google+ are more than likely different groups of people, so post the same content on all these media.

All of these activities will build the trust and loyalty of people following you, so they are more likely to want to do business with you. It will also help grow your relationships with existing customers.
